PLEASE NOTE: COVID-19 STATEMENT
During this crisis, MCLA is pleased to offer FREE telephone legal consultations through its “Remote Clinics” on Wednesday and Thursdays from 4 to 6 PM. To sign-up and speak with an MCLA Volunteer Attorney, please either click HERE to schedule an appointment online or call (502) 309-9039 and leave a voice message with your name and telephone number to begin the consultation process.* *PLEASE NOTE: Calling and leaving a voice message does not create an attorney/client relationship. When you leave a voice mail message and an MCLA volunteer attorney provides a free legal consultation, you (a) agree that this is a limited engagement representation that exists only for the duration of the telephone call; and (b) waive any and all liability against Metro Christian Legal Aid and its volunteers and employees arising from and/or related to any advice, referral, or representation you receive(d). Metro Christian Legal Aid will offer clients and the general public various legal aid opportunities where we will focus on a specific area of law and provide assistance, including, for example, filing for expungement, preparing wills, preparing and filing tax returns for the poor, and assisting with immigration issues. Inclement Weather Clinic Policy: Weekday clinic closings due to inclement weather will follow the JCPS closing schedule. Weekend clinics will be determined by MCLA and announced on WAVE3 and WDRB websites along with MCLA's website and social media outlets. TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Educational EventsWe plan to provide educational opportunities for attorneys, law students, paralegals, legal professionals, clients and the general public. This will be a key focus of the ministry of MCLA. Our training will be on varying topics often encountered at our legal aid clinics. These will be offered several times a year, focused on legal issues facing clients in the Metro Louisville area, and will be available at locations around the metropolitan area.
Expungement ClinicsA criminal record can be an overwhelming obstacle that blocks all your efforts toward a new successful life, even after your debt to society has been fully paid.
Kentucky law provides a way out of this dead end. Qualified individuals with criminal records may be able to "expunge" their record and go forward with a clean slate. However, the legal requirements, the forms and the filings can keep a person from achieving this important step toward a better life. At each Expungement Clinic, we provide guidance on how to navigate the expungement process and direct qualified individuals on how to accomplish this goal. PREVIOUS EXPUNGEMENT CLINICS Saturday, January 19, 2019 Saturday, November 5, 2016 Saturday, March 11, 2017 Immigration Clinics
These clinics are an opportunity to meet with an attorney to find out what your rights are and to learn about: recent executive orders, LPR status adjustments, DACA and DACA renewals, refugee adjustments, I-130s and I-730s, asylum and naturalization. Our volunteer attorneys can also refer you to another attorney for further representation if needed.
